HCJE is supporting the development of a new multi-million-pound sustainable bus depot at Scarborough Business Park.
Providing civil and structural engineering services to Good REIT as part of the wider design team, the new bus depot has been specifically engineered to accommodate further low-carbon technologies and renewable energy in future phases.
When completed in late 2026, the site will include 80 bus parking bays, a two-storey office building, extensive landscaping, and a large car park with 12 EV charging points.
Our involvement covers technical and consultancy support for facilities that will feature the latest in low-carbon construction methods.
MD Andrew Fairburn said: “This development represents a significant investment in local infrastructure and sustainable transport, enhancing facilities within Scarborough Business Park and supporting future growth in the region. It’s great to see the project move from planning into construction, and our role in contributing to its successful delivery.”
Peter Walden, director at Good REIT, said: “We are delivering a highly sustainable, purpose-built transport facility that has been specifically designed to support the transition to electric bus fleets. We are delighted to be working with HJCE on an important initiative that supports both economic growth and the decarbonisation of essential transport infrastructure.”
